bio


around joshua was originally formed in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.

What started out as a solo alternative project has evolved quickly to become more a band of ''indie and  "brit-rock" sound. Enriched by the collaboration of various musicians, around joshua has become much more melodic and refined.
The band's popularity has steadily grown by developing their sound, improving their art and conquering their fans without the use of superficial gimmicks.
Strong determination to follow their artistic process has taken years to develop. Hundreds of hours have been necessary to realize the aspirations of Dave Talbo, the leader of the project. In his own words "The biggest dreams require the biggest efforts".

around joshua has performed live all over Quebec, Canada including the major cities of Montreal and Quebec City. The band performed at the "festivoix Festival" in Trois-Rivieres in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
Over the years the band has shared the same bill with bands such as: the Dears, DJ Champion, karkwa, Grimskunk, Patrick Watson, Malajube & We are wolves..
Due to increasing demand, the band decided to record their 1st CD. After ten months of hard work the maxi CD "reversed" was released in November 2006.

The release of "reversed" set off a chain reaction.

The cd caught the attention of Indica Records President M. Franz Shuller. Mr. Shuller's label represents artists such as Les Trois Accord, Grimskunk, cat empire and Joseph Arthur.

Mr Shuller mentored the band and introduced them to a producer ; Jordon Zadorozny who has worked with artist such as ''Sam Robert's band'' and ''Melissa auf Der Maur'' (hole and smashing pumpkins member)

Mr.Zadorozny expressed an interest in recording the band. In 2008 and 2009 the band began working on its new material at Jordon Zadorozny's studio, in Pembroke, Ontario.

The new CD is ready for promotion this autumn.
With team in place, the future of "around joshua" is poised to make big noise in 2009.

around joshua est une formation originaire de Trois-Rivières qui fut formée en 2002 par Dave Talbo.
Au départ c’était un projet solo alternatif qui se transforma rapidement, enrichie par plusieurs musiciens, en groupe indie rock.
Au fil des ans les collaborations et les arrangements ont été modifiés pour devenir plus raffinés et plus mélodiques pour faire un son propre à around joshua.

L’enregistrement du premier CD en 2006 Reversed a demandé 10 mois de travail intensif au groupe. L’album est toujours disponible sur le site www.aroundjoshua.com ou CD Baby :  www.cdbaby.com/cd/aroundjoshua
Ce premier CD a permis au groupe d’attiré l’attention de l’industrie, et de ses fans et d’offrir des spectacles dans les marchés les plus importants du Québec, Montréal (Café Campus), Québec (La Casbah), Trois-Rivières (Festi-Voix), Victoriaville (Cactus), Joliette (L’Azile), St-Hyacinthe (Zaricot).
around joshua a partagé la scène avec plusieurs formations telles que Patrick Watson, Joseph Arthur, DJ Champion, karkwa, The Dears, Malajube & We are Wolves …. La Formation s’est aussi produit lors de l’édition 2006, 2008 et 2009 du festival de L’Art Vocal et maintenant le Festi-Voix.

Le disque a capté l’intérêt du président d’Indica records M. Franz Shuller. M. Shuller  a présenté le groupe au producteur Jordon Zadorozny, qui a travaillé avec des artistes comme Sam Robert's band  et Melissa Auf der Maur, (membre du groupe Hole et Smashing pumpkins).
M. Zadorozny a exprimé l’intérêt d’enregistrer le band en 2008 et 2009 dans son propre studio dans la ville de Pembroke en Ontario.
Cette collaboration a culminé l’intérêt de l’agent Guillaume Lemieux de agency, Toronto et il s’est renseigné sur le travail du band afin de promouvoir les spectacles du groupes après la sortie du nouveau cd.

around joshua signe en 2009 un accord avec Avenue B Multimedia pour la gestion, la promotion et la sortie de son nouvel album Cassiopeiae Noks qui va être disponible à la fin mai sur CD Baby sur les sites de téléchargement et sonnerie.
Le premier extrait radio est Hold On qui commencera à jouer en juin et le vidéo en animation 3D sera sur MP6, MTV et Much music fait par la firme Another Jay Movies de Montréal. (www.anotherjaymovies.com )
Le premier extrait est aussi sorti en Angleterre en Avril sous l’étiquette White Label de Manchester. (www.thewhite.co.uk)
En Mai la tournée Noks tour va démarrer avec des spectacles au Québec et quelques festivals cet été avant d’aller au États-Unis et en Europe cet automne. Ils vont offrir des prestations électriques et acoustiques.
