around joshua was originally formed in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.
What started out as a solo alternative project has evolved quickly to become more a band of ”indie and “brit-rock” sound. Enriched by the collaboration of various musicians, around joshua has become much more melodic and refined.
The band’s popularity has steadily grown by developing their sound, improving their art and conquering their fans without the use of superficial gimmicks.
Strong determination to follow their artistic process has taken years to develop. Hundreds of hours have been necessary to realize the aspirations of Dave Talbo, the leader of the project. In his own words “The biggest dreams require the biggest efforts”.
around joshua has performed live all over Quebec, Canada including the major cities of Montreal and Quebec City. The band performed many times at the “festivoix Festival” in Trois-Rivieres. Over the years the band has shared the same bill with bands such as: Jacob Dylan, the Dears, DJ Champion, karkwa, Patrick Watson, Malajube & We are wolves.
Due to increasing demand, the band decided to record their demo. After ten months of hard work the demo “reversed” was released in 2006.
The release of “reversed” set off a chain reaction.
The cd caught the attention of Indica Records President M. Franz Shuller. Mr. Shuller’s label represents artists such as Les Trois Accord, Grimskunk, cat empire and Joseph Arthur. Mr Shuller mentored the band and introduced them to a producer ; Jordon Zadorozny who has worked with artist such as ”Sam Robert’s band” and ”Melissa auf Der Maur” (hole and smashing pumpkins member) Mr.Zadorozny expressed an interest in recording the band. the band began working on its new material at Zadorozny’s studio, in Pembroke, Ontario.
The new CD ”cassiopeiae noks” is now ready and everywhere in canada.
With team in place, the future of “around joshua” is poised to make big noise in 2011.

around joshua est une formation originaire de Trois-Rivières, au canada qui fut formée par son leader Dave Talbo. Au départ c’était un projet solo acoustique qui se transforma rapidement en groupe indie rock. Les collaborations et les musiciens qui se greffe au projet apporteront le raffinement et le son mélodique propre à around joshua.
L’enregistrement du premier demo reversed en 2006 a demandé 10 mois de travail intensif au groupe. La réponse de ce premier demo fut stupéfiante. En plus d’attiré l’attention de l’industrie et de nouveaux fans, a.j. se voit offrir des spectacles dans les marchés les plus importants du Québec, Montréal (Café Campus), Québec (Le Cercle), St-Hyacinthe, Victoriaville et Ottawa. La formation s’est aussi produite au prestigieux festival »Festi-Voix » de Trois-Rivières et Festuvent de Lévis. Les performances live d’around joshua leur permette de partagé la scène avec plusieurs formations international telles que; Jacob Dylan, Patrick Watson, D.J. Champion, The Dears, karkwa, Malajube & We are Wolves ….
Le disque capte l’intérêt du président d’Indica records M. Franz Shuller. M. Shuller présente le groupe au producteur Jordon Zadorozny, qui a travaillé avec des artistes comme; Sam Roberts band et Melissa Auf der Maur, (membre du groupe Hole et Smashing pumpkins). M. Zadorozny exprime l’intérêt d’enregistrer le band dans son propre studio à Pembroke en Ontario.
2010 around joshua signe un contrat de disque avec le label canadien goego. L’album cassiopeiae noks sera lancé début 2010.
La distribution national sera assuré par outside music canada et en téléchargement sur itunes.
la tournée »Noks Tour » va démarrer avec des spectacles au Québec et quelques festivals d’été avant d’aller en Europe dès l’automne.
Ils vont offrir des prestations électriques et acoustiques.
